Spring Season Update
Since our team began here in Brentwood in 2008, we’ve offered water polo every season (with the exception of the Covid hiccup). After much deliberation, we came to the unfortunate decision that we couldn't have a spring season this year due to a lack of pool space:
-Spring is high school swim season. Naturally, the high schools have first priority over their pools.
-Secondly, late spring is also when our local “rec” (spring/summer) swim teams start.
-Lastly, in the past, we’ve been able to rent space at BFAC (Brentwood Family Aquatic Center) during the spring. However, the City of Brentwood has expanded its aquatic programs and there’s no pool space available to outside users.
These three factors lead to all pool space being booked until late in the evening, leaving no possibility to hold our normal spring season. What we’ve decided to do instead is have an extended summer season that will start on May 1 - earlier than usual. Click here for the practice schedule and here to register.
This longer season will provide ample time for kids to “warm up” for summer and more time to prep for Junior Olympics in July (click here for dates and details).
Since the season will be longer, it will be slightly more expensive than a regular season. For this reason, we’re allowing the fee to be paid in two installments. The first is due at registration, and the second is due by April 25. Details are on the registration page.
We’re sorry for the disappointment, which we definitely share, but we’re looking forward to an awesome summer season and sending all our teams to JOs!
In the meantime, we encourage your children to join a swim team to stay in shape and keep improving their swim skills before our summer season! Here are links to the local teams:
For those with kids between the ages of 5-9, our SPLASHBALL program is a great intro to water polo. Check it out and spread the word!
